Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The Mole Agent”; a documentary is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar, regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, and I would describe that feeling in a very reductive way: “I need to call my mom.” In our show, we tried to do a similar thing with the tone: Basically, does our show promote the feeling of wanting to call our moms?
Remake of the movie El agente topo (2020)
I’m not a big fan of the show, but we crushed the entire season on the first night.
It has the right mix of warm, funny, sad and deep with a story line that keeps you hooked
Ted Danson is great of course, but Stephanie Beatriz (Diaz in 99) is awesome and her character is someone you want to spend all your time with.
A solid eight out of ten for me, one for all ages and who knows, hopefully a second season
It’s set in San Francisco, which of course helps with my rating, but most of all, while it’s very sad at times, it’s a comedy and gives hope for the future as we all get older.
